Key Stage 4

The course gives students a real, in-depth understanding of how computer technology works. The course develops critical thinking, analysis and problem-solving skills through the study of computer programming, giving students a fun and interesting way to develop these skills, which can be transferred to other subjects and even applied in day-to-day life. The qualification specifically requires students to undertake a practical investigation which involves planning and carrying out a practical investigation of a given topic. Students also develop  their skills with programming and learn a specific coding language; they create algorithms which provide solutions to stated problems, then code their solutions in a suitable programming language.
